Linda Jean Hoffman, 72 of Ammon, ID loving wife and mother, passed into the loving hands of our Lord on September 12, 2017 at Eastern Regional Medical Center, under the care of Aspen Hospice. Linda was born in Idaho Falls on May 9, 1945 to Kenneth E. and Marie F. Perry of Idaho Falls.
Linda graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1964; the University of Idaho with her BS in Education in 1966; and Idaho State University with a Master of Counseling emphasizing Elementary School Counseling in 1995.
She married Tom Hoffman on June 10, 1967, and they traveled the world. Linda was a consummate military-wife, gracefully navigating separations and reunions, maintaining a constantly moving home, and lovingly held family together through physical separations.
Linda was a lifetime educator, teaching in Idaho Falls, the Philippines, Texas, Virginia, and New Mexico. She returned to Idaho Falls in 1984. She taught at Cloverdale and Iona Schools as a Title 1 teacher through 1995. She continued as the school counselor at Tiebreaker school through her retirement in 2005.
Linda's great loves were God, her husband Tom and son Aaron, young children, her students, traveling, and her dogs. Linda loved to see the world and was especially fond of Caribbean sailing cruises. After retiring, Linda enjoyed traveling with Tom in their ALPHA motor home returning to Idaho Falls for the summers. Linda loved the 5 o'clock happy hours with her friends in the RV community whether they just met that day or had been friends for years.
Throughout her life Linda was active in the life of her church, from cooking for youth club, serving as the Sunday school director, and on a Pastoral Nominating Committee. She was especially fond of working at Camp Sawtooth in Ketchum. Linda actively presented Vacation Bible Schools throughout her life wherever she was and was a long-time volunteer at the Idaho Falls Food Bank.
Linda is survived by her husband Thomas W, Hoffman, of Ammon, ID; son T. Aaron Hoffman(Heidi) and grandson Isaac Aaron Hoffman of Amery, WI; and cousin Laura Flint of Iona, ID. Linda was preceded in death by her mother Marie F. Perry, father Kenneth E. Perry, brother Edward Perry, and nephews Craig Perry and Scott Perry.
Linda's family would like to thank Linda's primary care physician, Dr. Shane Machen, for his outstanding care of Linda. They would also like to thank the staff at Encompass Home Health for their 4 years of outstanding care for Linda.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 11:00am on Thursday, September 21, with Pastor Phil Hagen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation, Mountain Valley Chapter or the National Kidney Foundation.

Arrangements under the direction of Buck Miller Hann Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Idaho Falls, ID.
